Osha Root - We use it for: Respiratory ailments including pneumonia, influenza, colds, bronchitis, tuberculosis, fevers, coughs, cold phlegm, indigestion, gas, delayed menses, rheumatic complaints, hay fever and asthma, disinfectant skin wash, stimulating sweating, stomach bitter, gas. Oshas are emmenagogues, so not recommended for pregnant women. The grated root is mixed with salt and drunk as an emetic, and steeped in whiskey is has been used for malaria and incipient colds.
